Prof. Jayne Mutiga holds a PhD in Linguistics, MA in Linguistics and African Languages and BA in Linguistics; she is the Associate Professor of Linguistics at the University of Nairobi and the Director, Centre for Translation and Interpretation, University of Nairobi.

She is a member, of the Multilingual Education Network (MLEN), Chama cha Kiswahili Cha Taifa (CHAKITA), Chama cha Kiswahili Afrika Mashariki (CHAKAMA), Kenya Chapter of the German Academic Exchange Services Scholars Association(KDSA) and a member of the German-African Network of Alumni and Alumnae (GANAA)
